Campus Reopening Plan

Reopening Plan

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority

Futures Academy is currently teaching 100% live online one-to-one instruction, and we are committed to reopening our campuses for Fall 2020 pending release from the California's County Monitoring List. As we approach the scheduled opening of our campuses, we will continue to monitor the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) and adhere to the highest standards recommended by these health agencies and other experts. The counties need to be released before we are able to open in a hybrid online/on-campus model. We will continue to monitor and update our families as we learn more.

Our San Diego, Carlsbad, Anaheim Hills, Huntington Beach, Laguna/Mission Viejo, Newport Beach and Cupertino campuses are NOW OPEN FOR LIVE INSTRUCTION. These campuses will also have online and hybrid options available.

Reopening Stronger

Before returning to campus, here’s some of the things we have done...

  • Cleaned & sanitized all workstations, offices, & common areas — including the reception area, Guided Study, classrooms, restrooms, etc.
  • Instituted daily & weekly cleaning protocols
  • Established hand sanitizer stations in areas where soap & water are not nearby
  • Implemented social distancing measures, including the placement of work areas and installing dividers
  • Trained staff in the form of a Playbook, videos & informational posters
  • Designed measures to control the flow of people entering & exiting the building
  • Limited common area, restroom & classroom capacity
  • Removed/disabled non-essential shared objects, such as puzzles, playing cards, board games, etc.

Safety Protocols and Best Practices

face coverings

Social Distancing & Face Coverings

Social distancing should be maintained to the best of your ability. Everyone is required to wear a face covering in all areas & at all times. If a student does not have their own face covering, one will be provided.

handwashing and cleaning

Handwashing & Cleaning

  • Hands should be washed periodically throughout the day.
  • CDC recommends washing hands often with soap & water for 20 seconds.
  • In traffic areas where there is no soap & water nearby, hand sanitizing stations will be available.
  • Clean up required when using equipment or touching surfaces, keyboard, mouse, chair arms, etc.
  • daily assessment

    Daily Self Assessment

Until further notice, all students will complete a digital COVID-19 Daily Survey and receive a confirmation before arriving at campus.

If a student has symptoms, do not come to school.

    Restricted Use of Common Areas

Guided Study capacity is limited to help promote social distancing.

    What Can Students Do?

To ensure your health & safety, we need to start thinking and acting differently & we must work together.

    Make the commitment to:

    • Self-assess your health everyday
    • Stay home if you are sick
    • Bring your own drinks, snacks, lunch, etc. (There will be no communal food or beverages for the foreseeable future.)
    • Follow social distancing guidelines
    • Wear a face covering
    • Clean & sanitize your workspace and any equipment you use
    • Practice proper hand-washing & sanitizing. Cough & sneeze into tissues or your elbow

My son has taken foreign language courses (pre-pandemic) and has just completed Chemistry (during pandemic). All I can say is, regardless of the circumstances, the educators and administrative staff provide the most comprehensive, challenging and supportive academic environment for my son. He was engaged and motivated to put the work in to succeed. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
